This is an old story BUT I wanted to point out a couple of things. 1) Pimps have NO concern for “their girls.” 2) An adult neighbor KNEW something was wrong and did nothing. 3) The pimp had a long history…and he kept getting out of trouble. These are facts that we need to take notice of because it’s part of WHY human sex trafficking of young girls is on the rise in America.

“Nichole Elizabeth Yegge, 17, was buried in a shallow grave in the Mojave Desert just outside Las Vegas in late July, less than a month before her eighteenth birthday, allegedly by a man and a young woman who feared being exposed for purportedly pimping out the runaway underage teenager who suffered bipolar disorder. The couple, Anne Osburn, 21, and Gabriel Yates, 31, were arrested last month for the teen’s brutal murder.
“Yates drove a black BMW with a vanity license plate that read, “GO2GUY.” A neighbor told police that she had seen Nicole Yegge sleeping inside Yates’ BMW shortly before she disappeared. When the neighbor knocked on the car’s window to check on Yegge, the teen indicated that she was fine even though “she did not look happy at all,” according to the neighbor.
“The neighbor said that Yates, who purportedly worked for an escort service, came to her apartment the following day and thanked her for her concern.
“He just said the girl was working for him,” the neighbor said. “He didn’t use the word pimping, but close enough.”
“Yates apparently had been charged with murder before, police learned. He was 18 and in the Army when he was suddenly discharged from Fort Riley, Kansas, after less than a year of service, on August 18, 1995. The reason for the discharge was not known, but the same day that he was discharged police from a small town in Florida showed up and arrested him in connection the beating and drowning death of a 13-year-old boy two years earlier, in 1993.” >> Read full story here

The Oakland Police Department is trying to reduce the number of teenage girls who are on the street and controlled by pimps. This is the second in a series on underage prostitution; watch for more stories this week.
“Bay City News — Nearly all of the women and girls working Oakland’s streets and motels are controlled by pimps, who can make hundreds of thousands of dollars each year with a five-girl “stable,” or group of prostitutes under their control, says Sgt. Holly Joshi, a spokeswoman for the Oakland Police Department who spent three years with the department’s vice and child exploitation unit.
“Although there are cases of “guerilla pimps” who kidnap girls and hold them against their will, most common are “Romeo pimps” who go through a calculated process that fosters an entrenched combination of fear and trauma bonding, said Barbara Loza-Muriera, facilitator of the Alameda County’s Sexually Exploited Minors Network.” >> Read full story here
